Effective January 1, 2025, WDTSA has implemented a pre-transfer of property sewer lateral inspection program, this is for all homes or businesses connected to our system.
Homeowners are responsible for hiring a contractor equipped with a camera long enough to televise the entire sewer lateral, from the basement to the authority’s main sewer line, and for all associated costs. WDTSA does not charge a fee for our time.
If you are selling your home or are an agent representing the seller, please complete the lateral inspection application form using the “Apply for Inspection” button below, or contact our office to obtain the forms. Once we receive the completed form, we will review it and contact you to schedule a time for the inspection. In most cases, an employee of WDTSA will be present during the inspection process.
Once your lateral is deemed free of defects, we will issue a certificate of compliance valid for five (5) years. Although we can usually conduct inspections with 24 hours notice, please allow up to two (2) business days for scheduling.
